This book is dedicated to the analysis of the artistic heritage of the painters of the Manaylo family’s three generations in view of the Carpatho-Rusyn world culture and the dominating role this family played in the spiritual life of the Subcarpathian Carpatho-Rusyns, in their national revival and formation as an independent nation.
"The main purpose of this research is to prove the originality of the Carpatho-Rusyn national revival, to show its manifestations in the fine arts on a European level, and also to define objectively the place and significance of the work carried out by the Manaylo dynasty painters: the father Fedor, the son Ivan and the grandchildren Andrew and Victoria in the history of the Carpatho-Rusyns’ culture.
Hopefully this book will also contribute to a certain degree to the national revival of the Carpatho-Rusyns, to the preservation, development and popularization of our rich and unique Carpatho-Rusyn culture encompassed by a specific aura in the whole world.
This work I dedicate to the memory of my Father Ivan and Grandfather Fedor."
