About the Artwork:
"Manhattan has always whispered its stories to me, an intoxicating blend of dreams and darkness, rhythm and reverie. In 'Manhattan's Muse' abstract painting, I sought to capture the city's heartbeat, that raw, jazzy pulse which dances through its streets and alleys after dusk. It's my ode to a city that never ceases to inspire, an artwork echoing with the silent melodies of midnight."
The painting was created with acrylic paints on a uniquely textured composite aluminum panel.
Thanks to the use of spacers, the artwork “floats” on the wall in an aura of beautiful light, made possible by the app-controlled LED backlighting.

"Andrew Manaylo's "Manhattan's Muse" from the Midnight Jazz art series is a compelling symphony of abstract expressionism. At first glance, the work delves into the myriad complexities of an urban nocturne, embodying the frenetic energies and subdued mysteries of Manhattan nights. The use of achromatic shades interspersed with burnt sienna and ochre evokes a moody, jazzy ambiance reminiscent of smoky bars and distant streetlights.
The layered texture, so evident throughout the canvas, speaks of the multifaceted tales embedded within the city's walls. With each palette knife stroke, Manaylo seems to scrape away the superficial veneer of the metropolis, revealing its raw, pulsating spirit beneath. The interplay of light and shadow captures the dichotomy of Manhattan – a city that never sleeps, yet holds countless secrets in its silent corners.
The fluidity of form, reminiscent of improvisational jazz, challenges the viewer to find meaning in chaos. Just as a saxophonist might explore the boundaries of melody and discord, Manaylo pushes the boundaries of form and abstraction. There's a certain musicality to the composition, where shapes and lines converse like notes in a complex musical arrangement.
In essence, "Manhattan's Muse" is not merely a painting; it's an experience. It invites viewers to lose themselves in its depths, much like a haunting jazz piece that lingers in one's soul long after the last note has faded. It stands as a testament to Manaylo's mastery in capturing the essence of his subject matter, intertwining emotion, environment, and pure artistry."
