About the Artwork:

"The Mediterranean has always whispered its ancient tales to me. In 'Soul of the Sea' painting, I endeavored to capture its depths, its mysteries, and its ever-shifting moods. Every stroke is a reflection of my reverence for the sea's boundless spirit and its quiet, introspective moments."

The painting was created with oil paints on a uniquely textured composite aluminum panel.

Thanks to the use of spacers, the artwork “floats” on the wall in an aura of beautiful light, made possible by the app-controlled LED backlighting.

Andrew Manaylo's "Soul of the Sea" from the Côte d’Azur Art Series is a masterful exploration of the boundless depths and mysteries of the oceanic realm. The canvas pulsates with a dramatic interplay of hues — cerulean blues juxtaposed with fervent splashes of crimson and gold, evoking both the serenity and tumult of the seas. The very essence of the Mediterranean, with its myriad tales of ancient mariners and mythical sea creatures, seems to be captured within these layers of paint. The artist's use of abstract forms and fragmented strokes gives the impression of fleeting memories, like shards of sunlit waves breaking upon the shore, or the ephemeral glimmer of marine life beneath the surface.

Manaylo's technique is one of both controlled chaos and meticulous deliberation. Every brushstroke, whether broad or delicate, contributes to the overall narrative of the artwork, suggesting the dual nature of the sea as both a life-giving force and an unpredictable entity. The bold red lines, reminiscent of corals or perhaps veins, breathe life into the painting, symbolizing the very lifelines that the sea provides to many.

Yet, beneath the surface, there is a melancholic undertone. The dark, shadowy patches, interspersed with luminescent blues, hint at the sea's deeper, more introspective side. They speak to the hidden depths, the unknown stories, and the silent battles waged beneath the waves.

"Soul of the Sea" is not just a visual feast; it's a profound commentary on the symbiotic relationship between humanity and the vast waters that embrace our planet. In this piece, Manaylo has managed to distill the very essence of the Mediterranean, offering viewers a deep dive into its soul.
